Talking about sgainvs accounts i is mostly noted that most accounts have idle funds which remain for sometimes longer periods. So it is advisable to have an account with sweep in and sweep out facility. Don't you agree?

That is true Raggs.Yet I think that we as a people still have some of our rgihts, they havent yet all been underscored. If anything positive shall come from the state we have blindly watched the Government put us in; the people will have to take a stand. We already are by communicating our thoughts, worries, and goals. I think that computers as well as anything can be used for the positive or the negative.

Payday lenders are cridoters just like banks and credit card companies (Although they are generally an even bigger ripoff).Almost all cridoters subscribe to the credit monitoring services ( your credit score ). Every creditor who is a member also reports their activities to the credit service by social security number. If you check your credit history, you will likely see your Payday loan at all three credit agencies.

LukeW August 22nd, 2011 4:15 pm @Meketrefe go to Facebook. Type someone's name in the sercah box at the top of the screen. That's illegal in a good number of countries?@Mike your strike 2 & 3 are valid development points and should be in place. I agreeStrike 1, I disagree is any different than a site with sercah that includes user names. Most sites even have APIs for looking up user names. (also see my comment above. nice & AJAXified on facebook as well). @ Craig, three comments from Twitter discussion on this topic that are applicable to your points: in security-related UI, perceptions (and misperceptions) matter even more than in regular UI. lots of fear & misinfo out there. -@jreffell to be fair security UI concerns are valid because the user perceives them, not because the designer's logic refutes them. -@jaysondb I'd say that many designs have created artificial/wrong security perceptions. See password field and keylogging. -@lukew i agree with you both! also see: password rules that make you work hard but don't really add security -@jreffell@zeldman fair point on people using text-expander utilities that's a consideration worth looking into. Also password managers like 1password don't do very well with anything but a standard login box (3rd party sign, sercah UI (like Bagcheck, Google email login, etc.)

@Erik: Absolutely, the feel of the Dreamwidth community is very deiefrfnt (intentionally so!) from the feel of (e.g.) MySQL or Linux kernel hacking. We do have a small number of contributors who have no use for our mushy style, so they do their development through Bugzilla and skip out on the developer support communities, IRC, etc. They still contribute without the social interactions they're not interested in, which seems to work fine for them.At any rate, I would argue that all people, even hard-core geeks who like to spend their time talking about the thundering herd problem and cache lines, would benefit from a more positive social environment in their projects and lives. You don't have to take it to the level where it feels I love you, you love me , but building a community where you take the time to say Hey, that was cool, thanks! can only be a positive.

Geoffrey:I do, however, think that how we speak can inlfuence how we think. When I was younger, I would defend transfolk and recite the rhetoric regarding respecting them, even though in my head I thought they were freaks. I wouldn't say it out loud though, because I felt like that would be bad and disrespectful. After a couple years, I went to college and we talked about transgender issues in Allied in Price (our LGBTQ group on campus), and I found out that some of the kids I knew there were trans. Knowing intellectually that hating someone for being gender non-conforming was a jerk thing to do made it easier to get over the surprise and stay friends with them (and gain more trans friends as the years go by). Now you'll find me helping the local Trans Coalition with their grassroots campaigns.

It could mean that people are more contidioned to think of TV properties when asked that question. I think that we\'re much more used to communicating about TV and movies than we are about games. Of course, that just means that games are still lagging in that sort of mindshare.

@Jeremy, you're right that I do like the existing cmtnuoimy not 100% of what the cmtnuoimy does, but I like it more than I dislike it. I have been in the open source cmtnuoimy for around 15 years, and contributed to a great many projects, because I believe that we're doing something amazing and world-changing and worthwhile. I have many excellent friends in the cmtnuoimy, and it was great to spend time with them this week at OSCON. And I have a deep love for good code, and for communities that value excellence in software design and implementation. So, you know, I'm not just standing outside the open source cmtnuoimy pointing and saying UR DOIN IT RONG.

I enjoyed your keyntoe at OSCON! I think it's definitely important to be aware of the culture we create in our projects. Alienating any potential contributors, regardless of gender, is bad for the health of the project. Initiatives like the kindergarten for developers to get up to speed in a non-judging environment are a great way to attract new developers who might be frightened of all the established process. We're doing something similar in Mozilla, our channel is #education (since it was primarily targeted at students). It's great seeing people get interested and becoming contributors who might have otherwise been scared off just by being too frightened to ask their newbie questions in the development channel.

Many thanks for a rellay lovely post. These approaches apply well to race too. Making people feel welcome, valuing inclusion and drawing others out are key soft skills that make the hard work possible. You will find that many women have these skills too so that adding more women to the mix may let you not only expand the participation base but strengthen the bonds between people, increase satisfaction with the experience and introduce skills and people from which you can learn.

get rid of the 5% fee???? Do you know how they THINK they listend? They lewerod the maximum success fee from $499 to $498. Can you say LOL. There is no way I'm paying $500 to sell a $10,000 website. Hello???? That is a HIGHER fee than realtors charge to sell a house. And plus, you are not even doing anything to sell my website. Are you talking to the buyers for me? Are you convincing them to buy it? Are you handling the payment? Are doing all the paperwork? If you list my website for me, and do all the work of talking selling, then yes I will pay 5%. But why would anyone want to pay 5% success fee when they are getting less than what we got before? And dont say we are getting more because this site blows. How about someone from Sitepoint/Floppa actually fix what they have done wrong and go back to the original marketplace not some new We are the #1 marketplace for buying and selling websites with an ugly design, bad interface, and horrible pricing structure. Who cares about being #1. What we want is a genuine service with a good design, great security, and lower fees.Floppa is like a premium steakhouse selling hotdogs now but for $498 + your standard $19 listing fee.So HELLO sitepoint, I'm talking to you. Are you going to LISTEN to your users?????????????????????????????
